Rationale
The setting and context project allowed me to have an opportunity to deeply examine the culture and context of Rocky Mountain High School and gain a deep understanding of the students I would be working with. This understanding gave me a greater concept of the individual and collective identities that I would encounter in the classroom and thus create a space in which these particular students could successfully learn. This examination of population was continued in the data analysis project which gave me the opportunity to again seeker deeper understanding of student’s individual identities and adjust my teaching to better suit these needs. The individualized assessment of the data analysis project allowed for me to seek out and discover the individual academic levels and needs of students in direct relation to my own teaching. Both of these assignments have helped me to more successfully understand and serve my students.
